The sights surrounding Suomenlinna sea fortress aboard a small ferry

Sea sights surrounding Suomenlinna sea fortress...

Looking back, along with a large Silja line ferry just to the right is part of the Palace Kamp Hotel Restaurant Klippan
(Traveling at a few knots on a relaxed sunny afternoon.)

(On the right)Katajanokka Terminal -a ferry terminal for coming or going to Tallinn or Stockholm. While flying the "blue cross" Finnish flag.

The Viking Line Katajanokka Terminal is open every day from 8am to 9pm. There's a restaurant and a kiosk for if you are hungry. Other conveniences such as an ATM and currency exchange are available.

We have reached the end of the Katajanokka terminal and now we are heading into open water.

Katajanokka is disappearing behind us and open sea is just ahead.

In case you are wondering how the residents of Suomenlinna get to the island and back to Helsinki mainland, they use the M/S Suomenlinna II. Here is a M/S Suomenlinna II --look-a-like which also transports tourists and vehicles. This one is slightly larger than our ferry.
