This is park contains more rides than any other Northern European amusement park.
In honor of the 60th anniversary, in the summer of 2011, a new roller coaster ride called the Ukko was introduced. It's track is over 100 meters long and soars and twists at over 100 kilometers per hour.
Linnanmaki Amusement Park is fun, however it's a bit difficult getting around since the rides are sandwhiched close together.
The park also has games like: Fish for your own bag, and see what's in it. Onnenkoukku, or pull on a sting and see what you win Onnenveto. Also an X-Box Kinect.
I went on lots of different rides. But three rides were particularly memorable. 1. The old wooden roller coaster Vuoristorata, 2. City Express Pikajuna, 3. Galaxy Linnunrata. The wooden roller coaster Vuoristorata is nice because it is a long ride, fast, with lots of curves.
The Fast Train ride goes around the tracks across several bends, also in circles. The sharp turns tilt the coaster at dramatic slopes, making your stomach light.
The Galaxy Linnunrata indoor ride is fast. It feels like you are in space. You are in a dark room with wooden caves, and the lighting is done up well to make it feel like you are floating in space. -- Tomi Elliott
The Safari family restaurant offers a buffet-all you can eat,or eat at a kiosk where you can buy: Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks, cotton candy, and ice-cream. The restaurants and kiosks can be pricey, so pack a lunch and save.
A hot waffle with cream and strawberry jam tops it off if you don't care for the typical 'Linnanmaki Amusement Park Food!' Yum!
The Vuoristorata was Built in 1951, the Wooden Roller Coaster remains the most popular ride in Linnanmäki.
The Children's Carousel,built in 1896.
You can go all year round, but there are special times, when you may just be able to avoid the long queues waiting to ride the roller coasters. !!--Beware--!! This park is a big hit for school kids...so if you want to really ride, the 'Rides'a lot, check with the Finnish holidays, and plan to not go on a holiday.
