Koskenvoima Kiosk Vesilahti is above normal Finnish Kiosk standards!

The Koskenvoima Kiosk Vesilahti is along the route while driving between Helsinki and Tampere. Even though it's countryside, there are things to see.

Hungry? Stop at the Koskenvoima Kiosk in Vesilahti to get coffee with sweet-bread (Pulla in Finnish) which is soft in texture, bun shaped and has a taste of cardamum. Or a full lunch or dinner.

The Koskenvoima Kiosk is in between two roads. A yellow house like looking Kiosk, a yard with some spruce trees, outside benches.
Our friend, Anne and her family run the Kiosk.

In many Kiosks, or call them 'quick stops' across Finland you can find local products for sale. A picture from 2008, with some 'for sale' items.

Our table! And now for lunch.

Anne brings us our food
Tasty...and that is what counts. A large helping of fries, hamburger patty, pineapple and tomatoes.
No more mashed potatoes from the box. This is grilled food 'to the max.'

No worries, you can still order salads. Anne will probably cook up anything you like. Kebab, hot-chicken wings!!

Altogether the four of us ate: 2 'Homemade Lunches', desert, extra soft drinks for the kids, coffee and a cake made of apricot layers with sweet and creamy icing, slightly chilled. Our bill: 25 euros!

This Finnish Kiosk is also a basic country grocery store where you can buy...

  • Milks!
  • Breads!
  • Candies, Chocolates!
  • Basic 'for-use-at-home' Consumables!
