The Panda Finnish candy store in Jyväskylä Finland has cheaper candy than most stores in Finland.

!!-Calling all Candy Lovers-!!

You get more candy for your money by buying directly from the Panda outlet store.  27% less than at a common food store in Finland.

We bought bags of candy liquorice made with naturally health friendly raw ingredients, as well as candy with other added extras. - Not as healthy. But still yummy!

Our shopping list:

  • 1 bag of Natural Strawberry Mansikka cost 60 cents
  • 1 bag of Natural Cherry Kirsikka cost 60 cents
  • Two bags of Minttu laku 150 grams each cost 1.67 Euros
  • Lakumix 90 gram bag cost 83 cents

Natural stawberry - Healthy Finnish candy
Close up of Natural Stawberry liquorice

Healthy Finnish licorice comes either in stawberry or cherry
Natural Strawberry on the left - Natural Cherry on the right
Each bag weighs 200 grams

Both the Natural and Cherry liquorice use molasses syrup as part sweetener since the other dominant part is from the fruit itself. The cherry is easy to chew.

The strawberry is softer than it's cherry counterpart and is not as sweet. Reminds me of Strawberry roll-ups, with a shorter aftertaste of strawberry -Pop a few in your mouth at once. Both candy types contain natural flavors and aromas.

Pay wholesale price by buying directly from the Finnish candy store at the Panda factory.

While driving through Jyväskylä make a sweet stop

If you are planning a trip through Jyväskylä, get a sugar fix by stopping at the Panda factory outlet store. Let it be a part of your Finnish vacation.

We visited here during the summer on a Sunday. Walking up to the store I notice that there are streams of people walking out of the Panda factory store.

The candy store's dimensions are about 20 meters long by 9 meters wide. Not big, but lot's of candy to see and buy.

My favorite - Lakupala Deli
Lakupala --My favorite!! A bag of it! Cafe Latte, Chocolate, Ice cream delight

Three flavors of licorice Chocolate Cafe Latte and Ice-cream

What the Panda Lakupala Deli is like in the mouth.  Tomi comments while eating a chocolate-filled lakupala: "It's like Salmiak and chocolate."

When you bite into the candy, your teeth sink into a few millimeters of black salty salmiak liquorice, soon you feel the filling of the orifices that contain the inner candy. Once your teeth contact the inner candy, you feel the tubelike inner candy.

Finally when your tastebuds pick up the taste combination of the liquorice and inner flavored candy of the Cafe Latte, Ice-cream or Chocolate. -you understand why this Finnish candy is popular.
Finnish Candy gift in a glass bowl
Pour the bag into a stylish glass bowl, place it on the table for guests during a coffee break. Or, for a gift idea, wrap it up in some transparent wrapper and voila' - a sweet travel candy gift for a friend or relative.
